Histroy of the school
Al-Arqam Academy for Girls is a renowned international school that provides high-quality education. The school offers international curricula along with a strong focus on Arabic, Islamic education, and Qatar history. The school values originality, individuality, and keeping up-to-date with modernism and contemporary trends.
The school was established in 1996 as a private school that followed the curricula of the then Ministry of Education. It also provided English language classes and used modern teaching methods and practical activities to make learning enjoyable for students.
In 2004, the school adapted to the changing times and started teaching international curricula, using the British national curriculum for all subjects. The school also maintained a strong focus on Arabic, Islamic education, Qatar history, and life skills. The school provides extracurricular activities and values to build an authentic generation that is connected to humanity.
The Academy is accredited by the Cambridge Foundation and the Edexcel Foundation as a certified British Certification Testing Centre. It is also an accredited IGCSE-AS Testing Centre. Last year, the Person Global Foundation was accredited for their own international curricula and tests.
The school is a fully recognized Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Edexcel Examination Centre. The Primary school was accredited by Pearson Edexcel examination center last year. The Academy is under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of State of Qatar, and adheres to ministry standards in Arabic, Sharia, and Arabic Humanities curricula.
Al Arqam Academy believes in the importance of teaching these subjects and their key role in building authenticity, maintaining identity and achieving Qatar’s vision 2030. The school was chosen amongst a few other schools to join the Educational Vouchers System adopted by the Ministry, which enabled it to serve more Qatari students.
In 2012, the Academy applied for the Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) program and was one of the few schools to receive accreditation for a term of five years.
The Academy has modern facilities designed to meet the demands of contemporary education and adhere to international school building standards. It is made up of three main buildings: kindergarten, primary, and secondary. All buildings are equipped with security and safety equipment and are licensed by the Ministry of Civil Defense. Teachers, managers, and senior management at Al-Arqam Academy are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for students, with a climate of mutual respect.
